Cocomo + Co is proudly owned and operated by sisters Jess and Amber. What started as a temporary move home during COVID turned into something much more—renewed love for the place they grew up in and a decision to stay for good.
In 2020, Jess also became a first-time mum… to her beloved sausage dog, Willie Mae. With a dachshund in tow, the sisters began exploring Hobart’s dog-friendly spots. They loved grabbing coffee or a drink with Willie Mae by their side—but often found something lacking. The places they visited were either too cold, didn’t have a view, served mediocre coffee, or didn’t offer a drink.
With Jess’s background in hospitality and Amber’s experience in finance and admin, the solution was clear: create the kind of dog-friendly café they had been searching for themselves. A place where dogs and their humans are not just tolerated—but genuinely welcomed and celebrated.
Enter Cocomo + Co.
Overlooking the Bellerive Marina, the café features a large, undercover alfresco area and a beautiful northerly aspect that makes the most of Hobart’s sunshine. Inside, the space is open and bright, with floor-to-ceiling water views that make it feel expansive and calming. Tucked away, you’ll also find a cozy corner with a fireplace and plush couches—perfect for curling up on a chilly Tassie day.
With strong coffee, great cocktails, and relaxed, friendly service, Cocomo + Co is designed to tick all the boxes. Whether you’re here with your pup or just popping in solo, they hope you feel right at home. (But seriously… bring your dog.)
P.S. Cocomo was the name of their childhood cat—the café is named in his honour, and in honour of all the furry family members who’ve come along since.
